Dachshund lovers, are you ready for a mind-blowing museum featuring over 4,500 weiner dog collectibles on display? Then it’s time to plan your visit to the Dackelmuseum of Passau, Germany.

This love letter to sausage dogs opened its doors in April of 2018 thanks to the dedication of lifelong dachshund admirers Josef Küblbeck and Oliver Storz.

The pair quit their gigs in the floral industry to open this petite but jam-packed museum devoted to all things dachshund.

Inside the Museum

Featuring everything dachshund themed from stamps of the world to Waldi the Olympic mascot merch, the Dackelmuseum exhibits were amassed by Seppi and Oliver over more than 25 years of collecting.

Little Dog Big Smiles

“The world needs a sausage dog museum… No other dog in the world enjoys the same kind of recognition or popularity as the symbol of Bavaria, the sausage dog,” Josef told the BBC.

Dachshund Stamps

Josef and Oliver also enjoy marching in dachshund themed parades, both locally and abroad, including a visit to Switzerland.

Dachshund Beer

The museum welcomes dogs and provides treats to their four-legged visitors, both dachshund and non-dachshund alike.
